J.D.Salinger died

J.D.Salinger died yesterday in his house in Cornish New Heaven where he retired in 1953. He was 91 years old and has never published a book since 1965.
He is still famous for the few books he published and in particular for his best seller Catcher in the Rye.
You may not have read Catcher in the Rye...well then you are lucky, you can read and enjoy it. A translation in French is bound to be published again soon. Buy it and read it. It is taught in schools in the U.S. and still is a teenager favorite.
The hero Holden Caulfield is 16 years old, he thinks people are either authentic or phony, no in between! You will either love him or hate him.
The book is about Holden's perils, travels and adventures in New York city after being expelled from his prep school. If you want to follow him through New York follow this link.

Weekly thought or rather afterthought

Putting it that way, our relationship to the web seems excessive.
The nice thing about emails is that I, for instance, get many more friendly
mails than by post. I do get some bills but if I make a ratio between friendly
mails and bills then the result is overwhelmingly in favor of my friends.
Thank you all, I do appreciate it.

Weekly thought

Were you happy to have snow for Christmas? I was and then I expected the cold spell to end
soon. It just did not.
Is it here to stay? It looks like it. Here is a picture that really scared me I found it on the BBC website :

This is England, the British Isles.

Now for the worst part it seems the Gulf Stream is now connecting with the
west Greenland current and that would be the reason why we are getting
such cold weather. How long is it going to last?
You can read the story here.
What have we done?
